Easter falls on 4/20 this year. Is it a coincidence or a sign from above!

Is this a testament to what our country has become. Is this a sign from God to see if we believe and have faith or should we fail. Over 25 states have some form of legalized marijuana use. This past November more than 50% of Floridians voted to legalize recreational use of marijuana. Will 50% of Floridians go to church this Easter Sunday or will they stay home? We have “In God We Trust” on our money, can we have it written in our hearts.

This Easter will you be at church, or will you be Hot Boxing without God? Did the apostles that followed Jesus, smoke marijuana? Was there even marijuana when Jesus walked the earth? It would make total sense when you read in the Bible about all of the amazing miracles that Jesus did. What type of miracles did Jesus do that would make people think the apostles got high? Jesus recognized the value of medical treatment, and there are examples of medical treatment in the New Testament.

Drugs in ancient Rome were used for a variety of purposes. Cannabis and opium were used as medication to treat conditions like insomnia or earaches. Roman doctors noticed the effectiveness of these drugs. They wrote that cannabis induced “a warm feeling” and opium was dangerous when not diluted. First off, where did they get marijuana? You never hear of the pot dealer being crucified next to Jesus? Maybe from Mary Magdelen, she was a prostitute. How do you think she got paid back then, Mary did not have Venmo. Prostitutes do spend time together with some shady characters, soldiers and apparently apostles and Jesus. That answers that question.

When Jesus walked on water, how high were the apostles? They were fishing all day, on an empty stomach and it was scolding hot that day. Did they drift towards shore and maybe it was low tide? Hallucinations are a part of marijuana use. Marijuana can cause hallucinations, primarily due to the compound THC. While it can alter perception and produce vivid thoughts, in some cases, users experience hallucinations. Cannabis may heighten night vision. There have been reports of fishermen experiencing improved night vision after consuming cannabis. They fished at night?

Jesus was invited to a wedding and one miracle he performed is when he turned water into wine. Maybe they smoked marijuana, and the wedding party could not tell difference between watered downed hooch and real good wine? In some studies, it was found that cannabis can make food taste more intense. It is thanks to these two effects that marijuana is well-known for causing “the munchies.” Resisting food is much harder when you are extra hungry. It is also harder when your favorite foods taste even better than they normally would. The watered-down wine tasted a lot better when everyone smoked.

Another miracle Jesus performed is when he made the blind see. Smoking marijuana helps people with glaucoma because THC, the key ingredient in marijuana, lowers eye pressure. Its effectiveness is temporary though, lasting eight hours after one dose. That makes sense, you only read about the Blind Man only once in the Bible. You never hear or see him again in the New Testament. Marijuana is the number one drug for glaucoma patients.

You also read in the Bible the Jesus heals the man of leprosy. Leprosy is a long-term infection. An infection that can lead to damage of the nerves, respiratory tract, skin, and eyes. Researchers are still working to understand how effectively CBD can be used for medical purposes. Yet, promising results have already been observed. In the case of conditions like leprosy, cannabis was a common remedy until more effective treatment options were made available. Marijuana has some benefits for nerves and nephropathy. It can help reduce pain, anxiety, and treat epilepsy.  Luke, one of the apostles, speaks of the use of oils and leeches, which could suggest a possible medical knowledge. Could he have made an ointment or a cream and shared it with Jesus?

Again, marijuana is the number one drug for cancer patients in pain. Cannabis is being studied for its possible benefits in helping to manage certain side effects of cancer and its treatment. Some patients use marijuana-derived products to ease cancer pain and other symptoms. Cannabis (THC) is also becoming a popular substitute treatment for managing HIV/AIDS symptoms. Maybe the leprosy victims mirrored AIDS victims?

He told them all to smile and say cheese at a dinner he called “the last supper”. How high were they to still smile after the Son of God said this will be the last supper together? And how high were they, to think they would never eat again, like this would be the last time. No one died that night, not even Jesus. They probably still ate. Did the one apostle down the end say, “I am sorry Jesus, I did not hear that correctly. Did you say the last supper?”. But no one listened because they were too high.

The biggest mind-altering effect from smoking marijuana continuously would be memory loss! On Easter morning, Jesus rises from the dead. The Roman guards check on the tomb and it is empty. Cannabis sativa, also known to the Romans as Cannabion, was mentioned many times in Roman military literature. Maybe they forgot where Jesus was buried?

The apostles also checked the grave site; the body of Jesus was gone and missing when they checked. Or did they forget where they put the body of Christ? Were the Apostles stoned off their sandals? Who drew the map to the tomb so they would not forget, Judas? They had short term memory loss, a clear sign of being a pothead. Current evidence shows that cannabis intoxication may temporarily alter or distort short-term memory processing. This occurs because compounds in cannabis disrupt neural signaling. They bind to receptors responsible for memory in the brain.

All of Jesus’s miracles could be chalked up to being a hallucination due to drug use. Or it is a much more powerful drug? A drug called Faith and Belief. Faith and belief can make a human being do some crazy things. Like re-elect Trump because we have Faith that he will Make America Great Again. Belief in something bigger than yourself, like God and all the miracles he performs. God made Donald Trump turn his head 1 inch. An assassin’s bullet missed and did not kill him. That is belief in something so much bigger than just politics alone. The Republicans have faith and believe that God wanted Donald Trump to survive that day in Butler, PA.

During this Easter when the Son of God resurrects and performs the greatest miracle of all. Will you be ready to believe in the resurrection of Jesus?

The symbolism of Trump being back in the White House, ready to carry out a type of miracle himself. Donald Trump has to turn the page and fixed our country after 249 years of intermittent horrible leadership. The problems that our nation faces, problems that have gone on for generations. And now one man, one leader must fix it. Donald Trump will resurrect America from the darkest four years of its history. We must believe and we must have faith.

This is all for fun and not to harm or insult the Catholic faith. I am catholic and served as an altar server my whole life. I also believe in God. I believe in God the almighty Father, maker of heaven and earth. And I believe that God will make Trump the best president we have ever seen.
