Obama tried his own DOGE. The Democrat’s stopped him too!

On February 24, 2009, Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States, addressed a joint session of the United States Congress. Barack Obama gives an address before Congress on his initiatives for economic reform. The President discusses the three critical areas that he believes will impact the future economy. Energy, healthcare, and education. He also stresses the importance of U.S. efforts in combating extremism in the Middle East.

President Donald Trump delivered his first address to a joint session of Congress during his second term on March 4, 2025. Trump told Congress that he was going to fix the economy, cut waste and fix the Board of Education. The war in the Middle East was a different war from back then. Still Trump vowed to end the war in Gaza and the war in Ukraine.

The crowd applauded when Obama said he would go, “line by line” in the US government budget and cut waste and abuse. Both sides of the aisle cheered when Barrack said he would cut education programs and give American students a better future. Barrack Obama mentioned numerous times the importance of not buying foreign oil.

Donald Trump is only doing what every other politician said they were going to do. The hypocrisy of the left is why Trump must make bold actions in office. Trump has been saying the same things that Barrack Obama said. Trump ran on “drill baby, drill”. Ironically, so did Barrack Obama. Barrack Obama was going to fix waste and abuse in the federal government.
